Obituary: ​Peter A. Sola 78, of Woodbury

After his retirement, he served as a representative on the building committee for the Town of Woodbury.

Peter A. Sola 78, of Woodbury passed away on Thursday March 15, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Lorraine Sola. Peter and Lorraine met and married in 1961. They lived in Katonah, New York for 30 years before moving to Woodbury, Ct.Peter was born January 19, 1940 in the Bronx, New York to Anthony and Pasquina Sola. He attended Evander Childs High School and then went on to receive his Associates degree in Mechanical engineering from the New York Institute of Technology.

He worked as a construction and facility manager and mechanical engineer for several different companies throughout the tri-state area. Between 1980-1993, he worked for the New York City school Construction Authority renovating schools and playgrounds in the New York City area.

He was appointed an Officer for the schools construction authority. After his retirement, he served as a representative on the building committee for the Town of Woodbury and on the board for the Spruce Bank Farm.His passions in life consisted of cooking, music, boating, (loved his boat “Sweet Lorraine”) fishing, and most of all his love for his family.Besides his wife of 57 years, he leaves his daughter, Renee McManus and her husband Kevin McManus, (Newtown Ct.) His son Anthony Sola and his wife Patricia Sola, (Woodbury Ct.) Grandchildren, Conor McManus, Samantha Sola, Jack McManus, and Peter Sola.

A memorial gathering celebrating his life will take place at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home, 2 School Street, Woodbury, Ct. on Saturday March 24 from 11 am-12:30 pm with a service from 12:30 pm-1 pm.In lieu of flowers, contributions can made to Little Britches Therapeutic Riding, P.O. 120 Woodbury, Ct and the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave, Dallas TX 75231.
