Obituary: Vivian Byrnes, 89, Formerly of Waterbury
Vivian Byrnes enjoyed golf, bingo, bowling and crossword puzzles.

Vivian (Galligan) Byrnes, 89, formerly of 66 Manor Ave., Waterbury, died Thursday December 1, 2011, at Wolcott View Manor. She was the widow of Henry R. Byrnes.
Byrnes was born in Waterbury on January 7, 1922, daughter of the late Matthew and Mary Galligan. She was employed at Scovill & Century Brass for many years until her retirement.
She enjoyed playing golf, bowling, attending bingo and doing crossword puzzles.
Byrnes leaves three sons: James F. Byrnes of Worcester, Mass.; Richard H. Byrnes of Waterbury; and Robert H. Byrnes and his wife Diane of Middlebury; five grandchildren: Lia, Seanan, Robbie, Alyson and Claire; and four great grandchildren; a brother-in-law: John Keane of Wolcott; and a sister in law: Ann Blum of Waterbury.

Byrne was predeceased by three brothers: Matthew, John and William Galligan; and two sisters: Theresa Keane and Peg McNerney.
The family thanked the staff at Wolcott View Manor for their care and compassion for their mother, especially noting Neh, Sandy, Marquita, Jackie and her granddaughter Alyson, who was with her until the end.

Burial: Private, at the convenience of the family.
