The BLM is on a systemic mission to remove and destroy herds of wild horses in Nevada and Wyoming right now.
Helicopters hover within just a few feet of the horses’ heads, driving them forward into lengthy traps from which they are removed, and herded into transport trucks. Some will be taken to BLM holding facilities, others, although it is supposedly illegal to send wild horses to slaughter, will wind up on their way to slaughterhouses in Canada Those who are sent to slaughter will experience the most horrific deaths possible, many at the renowned Bouvry Exports. Foals are separated from mares, foals die from exhaustion. Horses are in incredible panic as they are driven towards the traps and their herds are scattered to the wind.
Regardless of the ongoing roundups, regardless of the calculated plan to remove the horses from their homes -- all of which is fueled by cattle and oil interests, there is little if any reporting of these activities in the news. There are far more cattle on the ranges, yet the horses are blamed for overgrazing. Actually, one might say there is no media coverage on the East Coast. A number of us tried to interest the major news departments in doing exposes, in reporting on the cruel and unnecessary activity. But our effort were in vain. A time may come very soon when there are no wild horses left in either of the states. Yet there has been no outcry from those who work and reside in Nevada and Wyoming. Why? As result, Protect Mustangs, a wild horse advocacy group and thousands of members of horse advocacy groups on Facebook have called for a boycott of tourism in both of the States, demanding that the Departments of Tourism speak up against the eradication of this Nation’s wild horses, who ran free and served as outstanding symbol of the American spirit.

While there continues to be scarce, if any, media coverage on the East Coast, there is a wealth of information on the Internet.
