Oxford Hires Middlebury Man As Its Newest Police Officer

He will earn $21.76 per hour.

The Oxford Board of Selectmen has hired Matthew Cosmos, of Middlebury to be its newest police officer.

Cosmos, who spent the previous two years working for the Farmington Police Department, will earn a salary of $21.76 per hour. He started August 13.

First Selectman George R. Temple said he interviewed Cosmos and added he went through all the tests successfully, according to board of selectmen meeting minutes.

Temple said Cosmos is undoubtedly a good officer and did a very good job in Farmington.

Cosmos was not renewed in Farmington due to the way he wrote reports, but Temple reiterated Cosmos is a good officer, meeting minutes state.
