From dogs to drives: The Middlebury Police Department handled some interesting situations on the 4th of July.

 

The is located at 200 Southford Rd., Middlebury. The following police matters took place on Wednesday, July 4.

It's a 'Dog Eat Fox' World

On July 4, police were dispatched to 121 White Avenue after a dog attacked a fox at approximately 2:21 p.m.

The fox's back was potentially broken, according to the report. Dispatcher Jim Roy said the fox was killed due to the extent of its injuries and sent to the state for testing.

A rabies notice and strict confinement paperwork were presented to dog owner Linda Frederick.

Roy told Patch the fox tested negative for rabies.
 

Ride Results in Risk of Injury Arrest

Edward J. Plank Jr., 38, of 66 Ross St., Waterbury, reportedly rode a yellow and blue motorcycle through the beach area at Hop Brook Dam at approximately 3:36 p.m. Wednesday, July 4.

He was arrested for violating Connecticut General Statute 15-21: risk of injury to children.
