Pomperaug Region 15 Schools Calendar: Must-Know Dates for Winter 2016-17

SOUTHBURY, CT — We're getting closer to the midpoint of the school year somehow even though it feels like school just began. With that in mind, we wanted to share with you some important dates for the remainder of the year beginning with the upcoming holiday break.

Here are important dates for the remainder of the 2016-17 school year in the Pomperaug Region 5 Public School System.

Dec. 9 (early release day)

Winter break: Dec-26 to Jan. 2 (school resumes Jan. 3)

Jan. 13 (early release day)

Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday (school closed): Jan. 16

Presidents Day/ Winter Break (school closed): Feb. 20. 21

March 10 (early release day)

Early Release Day — Elementary School Only — March 22, 23

Spring Break: April 10-14, which includes Good Friday

May 26 (early release day)

Memorial Day (school closed): May 29

June 5 (no school students)

Last day of school: June 12

SNOW DAYS: School cancellations for weather or other emergency circumstances will extend the last day of school up to ten days. School closings in excess of ten days will be made up during the Spring Recess starting with Monday and working toward Friday.
