Pomperaug Teacher Tops in Region, CT Semi-finalist
Brian T. Jehning is the Region 15 Teacher of the Year and a semi-finalist for state Teacher of the Year.
A Pomperaug High School teacher has honored as a “teacher of the year.”
Physical science and biology teacher Brian T. Jehning was named Region 15 2016 Teacher of the Year and is a semi-finalist for Connecticut Teacher of the Year.
He is also an administrative dean of students, site coordinator for the Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, Link Crew coordinator and High School Science Curriculum Coordinator.

Pomperaug Regional School District 15 Superintendent Regina L. Botsford called Jehning a student-friendly teacher and said he models the highest level of professionalism and caring.
“You bring your own unique talents to all that you do,” she said.

As a state semi-finalist, Jehning will interview with the State Selection Committee regarding education issues and current trends. Four finalists will be selected, and a panel of state educators will visits them in their classrooms.
