Popular Woodbury Farmer Dies After Injuries Suffered In Crash

He was seriously injured in an accident that occurred earlier this month.

WOODBURY, CT — Very sad news to share as well-known local farmer Daniel R. Logue, 64, of Artillery Road, has died weeks after being seriously injured after an accident involving his tractor and a car, the Republican-American reports.

He was the owner of Logue Farms on Rowley Road and local officials were heartbroken by the news. “This is devastating to the community,” First Selectman William J. Butterly told the Rep-Am.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation and no charges have been filed as of yet. The site of the accident has seen its fair share of crashes over the years, the Rep-Am reports.

State Police at the time of the accident said Barjam Hoxha, 60, of Minortown Road, was traveling southwest on Route 6 approaching the intersection of Quassapaug Road and Logue was riding a John Deere farm tractor pulling a corn planter, while traveling northwest on Quassapaug Road attempting to cross the intersection of Route 6.

Both vehicles collided within the intersection and Logue was thrown from the tractor and sustained serious injuries, State Police said. Both men were taken to Waterbury Hospital.

According to posts on social media, Logue Farms received a perfect review concerning its produce and overall hospitality.
