Portraits by ShawnaLee will be at Catherine's Butterfly Party in Newtown CT

Portraits by ShawnaLee has been invited to participate in the upcoming "Catherine's Butterfly Party" hosted by the Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary in Newtown Ct.

Catherine's Butterfly Party will be Saturday, June 4th from 12-5pm at the Fairfield Hills Campus in Newtown CT and will benefit the Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary.

The event is FREE for your family in honor of Catherine's Birthday! There will be animals to adopt, games, crafts, facepainting, hand selected vendors, etc. to enjoy!

Specializing in pet and child portraiture, ShawnaLee Kwashnak is a portrait artist is a member of the Connecticut Society of Portrait Artists, Nutmeg Collective and Richter Asssociation and is a DAWS Partner. Her sensitive nature goes hand in hand with her heartwarming portraits of children and pets. Portraits by ShawnaLee will offer Pet Portrait demonstrations, provide complimentary pages to color, and artwork etc.

Catherine's Butterfly Party is a free community event, raising awareness of the Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary. It is a fun family festival with a dog, cat and bunny adoption event with ten rescue agencies, including DAWS & ASPCA, animal education exhibits by Horizon Wings, Magic Wings Butterfly Conservatory, Animal Embassy, K-9 Demonstrations by Trooper PJ Conway and his dog "Jackie", opening ceremony by the Second Governors Horse Guard, Southbury Audubon exhibit on pollinators and native plants, acoustic music, face painting, games, vendors, including Portraits by ShawnaLee, crafts and food trucks.

Last year this event boasted 2,000 attendees. It was an extraordinary and most memorable event in honor of Catherine who's love for animals and all of God's creatures was endless.

The Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary™ was born from Catherine’s inherent love of all animals - a passion that grew, as she did, into the beautiful girl whose memory we now honor.
Catherine’s life was taken at the age of six at Sandy Hook Elementary but her legacy of kindness will live on, improving the lives of countless abused, abandoned and neglected animals.

Every year for her birthday, Catherine would ask her parents for an “All the Animals animal party.” Catherine’s Butterfly Party, hosted annually on or around Catherine’s birthday is Matt and Jenny’s answer to Catherine’s birthday wish.
