A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 9. Below is the latest National Weather Service forecast for the area.

  • Tuesday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could be severe. Partly sunny, with a high near 79. South wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
  • Tuesday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 8 p.m. Some storms could be severe, with damaging winds. Partly cloudy, with a low around 53. West wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

The National Weather Service is calling for a chance of showers and thunderstorms Tuesday, June 9. A “Hazardous Weather Outlook” and a “Special Weather Statement” were issued for much of the state.

The greatest chance for severe weather is predicted for Hartford and Tolland counties.

Thursday Night: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 60. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 81.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 64.
