Post University Summer Programs for High School Students
Join us this summer for engaging, exciting programs and meet peers who share your interest or even earn your first college credits.
Throughout the summer, we are offering half day and full day programs including Social Media Academy, Environmental Explorers and Leadership, Robotics Academy, Curtains Up! Theatre, and CSI Academy.

Robotics Academy: Students will learn the hardware, software and engineering philosophy of robotics in a hands-on, project-based environment in a small group. Students with no previous experiences are welcome, as there is no prior knowledge required. Students with experiences in robotics are also welcome, and they will be challenged to explore new ideas and develop new skills. The week will begin with a series of self-paced challenges, each of which expand the students’ knowledge of programming, electronics, microcontrollers, mechanical design, and robot environment interaction. By the end of the week, students will be given the opportunity to evolve their robots into unique creation with abilities of their own design.

Environmental Explorers: Participants in the Environmental Explorers program will perform hands-on field investigations designed to enhance their understanding and appreciation of the ecological systems all around us. Our exploration of the environment will include analysis of insect population (entomology), the study and identification of CT vegetation (botany) and forests ecosystems, and an inquiry into the characteristics of lake ecosystems (limnology). Participants should wear hiking boots/sneakers and clothing appropriate for the weather.

Social Media Academy: In the day and age of Facebook, Instagram, SnapChat and Twitter high school students must be media literate and understand the consequences of inappropriate uses of social media. The goal of this academy is to teach high school student how to be responsible consumers and creator of social media. This academy will focus on the following
- The Positive Uses of Social Media (i.e. LinkedIn for College Apps, Facebook, networks for job opportunities)
- The Dark Side of Social Media (online bullying, miscommunication, unprofessional pictures in cyberspace, academic dishonesty)
- The importance of building an online social media profile-even while in high school

Curtains Up! Theatre: Curtains Up! Theatre Program participants will have the opportunity to explore the performing arts in a safe, nurturing environment. The program will support students with previous theatrical experience as well as those new to the performance arts. A variety of disciplines will be explored, including but not limited to: dance, acting, costuming, and vocal performance. The camp members will be active participants in the creation of a performance showcase at the end of the week.

Dates: July 27-31
CSI Academy: This program introduces students to the fields of Criminal Justice and Forensic Investigation. CSI Academy allows you the opportunity to work with real police officers and other experts in the field, learning what it means to be a Crime Scene Investigator. You engage in classroom instruction and hands-on demonstrations where you will learn to collect fingerprints, take and analyze crime scene photographs, and process a crime scene using actual equipment that current investigators use. You will also be given the opportunity to watch the state-certified ballistics expert conduct a live ballistic demonstration. In this course, you will have the option to earn college credit.

Enroll in two programs, receive a 10% discount, any 3 or more programs receive 20% discount.
