Quassy Amusement Park in Middlebury Gets Improvements
The old-school trolley park is renovating its look while trying to stay true to its origins.

Improvements to Quassy Amusement Park have helped it retain a historic feel and stay in business, the Republican-American reports.
The park, which dates back to 1908, has retained its roots. Architect Andrew Peklo has designed several buildings in the park, including a new ticket sales building that is a replica of an old train station building that used to be across the street from the park, the paper reports.
The park also recently received planning and zoning approval to build a canopy over its train ride. Eric Anderson, co-owner of the park, told the paper the canopy is meant to give people the experience of being at a train station.

According to the paper, the old trolley park has evolved with new rides and a water park, and Quassy will be meeting with the town’s Inland Wetlands Commission and the Planning and Zoning Commission in about a month for more improvements.
George Frantzis, whose grandfather bought the property in 1937, told the publication that the growth at the park has been “amazing.”
