From Quassy: When it comes to offering an affordable family getaway, Quassy Amusement & Waterpark in Middlebury, Conn., is considered the best option among all amusement parks in the Northeast, according to HomeToGo, the world’s largest vacation rental search engine.

HomeToGo today revealed the results of its annual Theme Park Index. The ranking, which includes the 50 largest amusement parks in the United States, exposes the steep gradient that separates the nation’s most affordable and most expensive options. Not only did the ratings find Quassy the most affordable in the region, but the family-owned property was considered the third best overall amusement park deal nationwide. “We’re certainly pleased that we can continue to offer a full day of rides and our expanded waterpark for less than $30 per person,” Quassy President Eric Anderson said. “With the vast improvements made at the park over the past 17 years, our guests are finding more value than ever before.” In 2011 Quassy made international theme park news when it introduced Wooden Warrior, a roller coaster incorporating tight turns and exceptional “airtime” in a small footprint. The marquee attraction was the first in all of North America to use the state-of-the-art Timberliner train from Gravitykraft Corp., Cincinnati, Ohio.
In addition, the lakeside property has added a full-fledged waterpark in recent years as well as
eight other new rides in the amusement area of the park.
