Region 15 Students Participate in Jump Rope for Heart

Almost 7K was donated to the American Heart Association.

From Region 15 Schools: Fifth Graders at Long Meadow Elementary School participated in Jump Rope for Heart afterschool on February 13th . The event, organized by Physical Education teacher Melody McVerry, raised $6,817.00. All funds were donated to the American Heart Association. Jump Rope For Heart is a national education and fundraising event sponsored by the American Heart Association and the Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE).

Jump Rope for Heart engages elementary school students with jumping rope, empowering them to improve their own health and help other kids with heart-health issues, all while having fun and raising funds for heart disease research and education. Picture (2018 Jump Rope for Heart): Ava Despres, a fifth grade student at Long Meadow Elementary School (LMES) in Middlebury, CT participates in Jump Rope for Heart, an annual event at Long Meadow Elementary School. The event, organized by LMES Physical Education teacher Melody McVerry, raised $6,817.00. All funds were donated to the American Heart Association.
