Press release
WOODBURY, CT
Community Theatre at Woodbury (CTAW) will open its 11th Anniversary Season with The Savannah Sipping Society by James Wooten, Jessie Jones, and Nicholas Hope. It is produced by special arrangement with Dramatist Play Service Inc, NY. Longtime CTAW Board Member and Artistic Director, Maureen Denver directs this delightful laugh-a-minute comedy.
The Savannah Sipping Society brings together four unique women looking to escape the monotony of their daily lives. Drawn together by fate and an impromptu happy hour, they reclaim their lost selves, create lasting friendships, and discover a renewed determination to live their lives to the fullest.
CTAW's production features the following local talent; Cathy Annulli, Peg Anson, May Bernhard, Missy Cowan, and Sabrina Wilson.
Performances will take place November 1-10 at Woodbury's Historic Old Town Hall, 5 Mountain Rd. Woodbury, CT 06798. Ticket reservations are strongly recommended at www.ctaw-ct.org.
CTAW was founded in 2013 in response to the community's expressed desire for quality, live theatre. Since its inception in 2013, they have produced 28 shows and welcomed over 10,000 audience members.
Starting in 2013 as an all-volunteer and self-supporting program of the Woodbury Parks and Recreation Department, CTAW established a home in one of Woodbury's most distinguished buildings: The Historic Old Town Hall, at 5 Mountain Rd, Woodbury, CT. In July 2018, after 5 successful years with the Woodbury Parks and Recreation Department, the Community Theatre at Woodbury became a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The Historic Old Town Hall continues to be CTAW's home, where they can offer quality performances to the local community.
In addition to their artistic contributions to the community, CTAW has supported the local food bank with donations, scholarships for area students, and additional support for local and national charities.
