Many smokers turn to cigarettes when they feel stressed, down, or overwhelmed. Many aren’t sure how they would deal with these experiences without cigarettes.
Although it may be hard to imagine, it is possible to deal with negative emotions without smoking cigarettes. Start by thinking about other ways to cope, such as talking to a friend, going for a walk, listening to music, and taking deep breaths. You can even ask friends who are non-smokers how they handle these challenging experiences.
