“Source to the Sound” Cleanup March 29
Join the Clean Up for the proposed Trail along the Norwalk River

On March 29, 2018, the Norwalk River Valley Trail (NRVT), Mayor Harry Rilling, Keep Norwalk Beautiful, and Grace Farms Foundation volunteers will join forces to clean up the section of the proposed NRVT running along the Norwalk River adjacent to Riverside Avenue in Norwalk.
The cleanup will begin at 10:00 AM, with crews forming up at the NRVT banner to the rear parking lot at 40 Cross Street, Norwalk. Tools and garbage bags will be provided, along with water and bug repellant. Volunteers are welcome to bring their own tools.
The area to be cleaned is the “Missing Link” section of the NRVT slated for construction in Norwalk. Construction on this section of the trail is anticipated to begin later in 2018. Once this section is completed, Norwalk will have 3 miles of continuous off-road multi-purpose trail beginning at the Maritime Aquarium and running north to Broad St. This new section will closely follow the Norwalk River.
Jim Carter, Norwalk’s leader on NRVT’s Five Town Steering Committee says, “When you’re down on this proposed section of the NRVT along the Norwalk River, with the foliage filling out, you’d swear you were in Vermont. It’s just beautiful.”
