State Police Make DUI Arrest in Middlebury
Driver had blood alcohol level twice the legal limit.

A Cheshire man was arrested in Middlebury for DUI after an off-duty police officer observed him driving erratically and tipped off state police.
Matthew Meyerjack, 22, of Cheshire, was arrested Monday for driving under the influence and failing to stay in established lane after state police from Troop ‘A’ in Southbury received a 911 call from an off-duty Hartford police officer, reporting an erratic operator traveling west on I-84 approaching Southbury.
State police then identified and followed the vehicle, observing the driver failing to stay in his lane. Meyerjack failed field sobriety tests and was found to have a blood alcohol level that was twice the legal limit.
Meyerjack was released on $500 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on June 7.
