The decision handed down today by the Connecticut Supreme Court finally puts to rest any question about the validity of the June 18, 2013 referendum that was approved by the voters of the towns of Bethlehem and Woodbury. This latest court decision is the third consecutive ruling affirming the legality of the referendum vote and is from the highest court in our state. We are once again invigorated and inspired that this Board and Administration will move ahead to deliver on this important building project for our most precious resource: Each and Every Student of Region 14.
A building committee will be developed and will start work immediately. Regular communication from the building committee will keep everyone updated on the progress we are making in the renovation of Nonnewaug High School. We encourage parents of Region 14 students and the citizens of Bethlehem and Woodbury to attend meetings and engage in the discussion of the development of our flagship school — a point of pride for all in our towns!”
