SyFy Network Investigates Woodbury Library Haunting
The haunting of the historic building has gained the attention of paranormal investigators.

WOODBURY, CT — The Woodbury Library has been the sight of numerous eerie occurrences and has attracted the attention of the SyFY network reality show, "Haunted Collector," according to The Waterbury Republican-American. The paranormal investigation team is led by Stratford resident John Zaffis.
The group arrived at the library July 6 and immediately noted the presence of spirits, as a clairvoyant said she sensed the presence of a ghost when she came through the library's doors. She also said she spotted an image of a person appearing from behind a bookshelf.
The historic building located at 269 S. Main St. was once home to the Parker School in the 19th century. Rumors of its haunting have been circling around for many years, The Republican-American reported.

Using a paranormal investigation tool called an Echo Vox, Zaffis and his team detected as many as 12 different ghosts, including one of whom was named “Pat.”
The SyFy Network describes "The Haunted Collector" as: "The Zaffis family are renowned paranormal investigators, tracking down haunted items like paintings, guns, jewelry and dolls. Once identified, these obscure items are collected and stored in the family's museum, helping John's clients bring normalcy back to their lives."

The library isn't the first brush with the paranormal for Woodbury. The site hauntedplaces.org lists the Glebe House as being haunted: "Two ghosts have been reported in the historic Glebe House. The first is that of an aggressive spirit that haunts the attic, and may be one of the conspirators who attacked Reverend Marshall (a previous owner of the house) for his beliefs and sermons. The second ghost is that of a African American woman, possibly a maid who previously worked in the house. She often appears exasperated or upset, but is generally regarded as a friendly presence."
