Teen Connected To Stolen, Burglarized Vehicles In Woodbury: PD
The 16-year-old has 12 pending felony charges prior to his most recent arrest.

WOODBURY, CT — The Woodbury Resident State Trooper’s Office arrested a juvenile following an investigation into vehicle break-ins and a stolen vehicle in Woodbury, State Police said.
On May 29, 2018 at 1 p.m., troopers and officers from the Woodbury Resident State Trooper’s Office were conducting a follow-up investigation into stolen cars and vehicle break-ins that occurred in Woodbury and Bethlehem during the overnight hours on May 24.
Through the course of the investigation, a 16 year-old juvenile male was identified as a suspect and police records indicated that there was an active arrest warrant for the juvenile suspect, State Police said. The Arrest Warrant was for Failure to Appear (in court) 1st degree on numerous burglary and larceny charges for total of 12 felony charges, State Police said.

While searching for the juvenile suspect in his Waterbury neighborhood, a stolen 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee was found parked in front of the suspect’s residence that had been reported stolen out of Westport earlier in the day, police said.
As troopers and officers spoke with neighbors, two males exited the suspect’s residence. One of the males appeared to be the 16 year-old male suspect. Upon seeing uniformed law enforcement officers, the subjects fled on foot in opposite directions.

In an effort to apprehend the 16 year-old, an officer deployed his Taser striking the juvenile suspect, State Police said. The suspect was immediately taken into custody without further incident and positively identified as the subject of the Arrest Warrant.
The juvenile was transported to Troop L-Litchfield where he was held on $15,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Norwalk Superior Court, on May 30.
During a search of the suspect’s residence, additional items of evidence were recovered implicating him in other crimes, including the theft of a Subaru Outback from Woodbury on May 24, 2018. Additional arrests are expected.
