Take a delicious culinary journey to France on April 28 without leaving Connecticut. Join acclaimed Chef Carole Peck and Wine Educator Jim Brewer of the Winebow Group, whose portfolio contains the finest distinctive wines from around the world, for a Tour of France Wine Dinner at Good News Café.

The dinner begins at 6:30 p.m., and opens with tantalizing passed hors d’oeuvres, served with 2015 Pas du Cerf, Rosé de Provence.

The first course is a Sea Scallop Quenelle floating in clam broth, with mache and almond pepper Romanesco. A 2014 Reverdy-Ducru Sancerre, from the Loire Valley, will accompany this dish.

Rhubard Cherry Pierogi will be served next, with rye berry porridge, goat cheese and mushroom. This dish will be paired with a 2014 Chateau St. Cosme, Cotes du Rhone, from the Rhone Valley.

The entrée is a Wild Boar Chop, with green fava beans, baby artichokes and turnip, accompanied by herb and ramp chimi churra. Complementing the dish will be a 2013 St. Andre Corbin from Bordeaux.

Dessert is a chocolate passion fruit meringue Dacquoise, and it will be served with a delicious dessert wine, the 2013 Roumieu Lacoste Sauternes.

The cost of the dinner is $80, all-inclusive. Seating is limited and reservations are required. Call Good News Café at 203-266-4663 to reserve a spot.
