Troop 5 Boy Scouts of Southbury/Middlebury Raise Money for a Good Cause
Businesses and individuals will be asked to make donations for procurement of daffodil bulbs which the Boy Scouts will plant in public.

Troop 5 Boy Scouts of Southbury/Middlebury are raising money to help fund a High Adventure trip next summer. They wanted to provide a fundraiser that would benefit our communities and be environmentally friendly - something that can be enjoyed by young and old alike!
Businesses as well as individuals will be asked to make donations for procurement of daffodil bulbs which the Boy Scouts will plant in public areas such as parks and greenways and the Harold Leever Cancer Center. Donations may also be made “in memorium” of an individual. The daffodil bulbs will be purchased from the Connecticut based Van Engelen bulb company.

Troop 5 will also be selling bulbs to individuals to encourage each household to plant some on their properties or at the ends of their streets. Scouts will be selling bulbs door to door and also at several neighborhood storefronts. They’re planning a community planting day on Saturday, October 10th, for individuals to foster neighborhood unity and pride.
Bulbs sales will continue from August 15th through September 12th. They are priced at 3 bulbs for $10 or 9 for $30. A Patron Angel donation of $100 will fund 30 bulbs.
