At around 12:30 p.m. today - Tuesday, May 28 - an eastbound car reportedly struck a tree on Quassapaug Road near the intersection with Artillery Road, Officer Cono Delia told Patch.
The driver reportedly told police she swerved when a car came into her lane and then struck a tree, according to Delia.
The driver was transported to Waterbury Hospital after complaining of chest pain, Delia said.
He said the other occupant in the vehicle was from a nearby health care facility and was transported to the hospital, per protocol.
