VIDEO: Dump Truck Pulled From Nonnewaug River

The driver escaped with minor injuries after his truck traveled down an embankment into the Nonnewaug River.

 

At 11 a.m. Thursday, June 21, Drew McDougall crashed a . He escaped with minor injuries. 

At around 4:30 p.m. the same day, the truck was pulled from the river and towed away.

Newtown Pool Company owner Pat McDougall thanked the first responders who arrived at the scene. 

He said he built his business from scratch and is grateful that his cousin and driver, Drew, was not seriously injured. He said he is sad to see the state of his truck.

"I worked all my life for this truck," he said. "I just had it painted two months ago."
