The Watermark at East Hill Announces Winners of 7th Annual Resident Juried Art Show
Selected artwork from residents at The Watermark will compete for a spot in the 2015 Watermark Expressions calendar.
Southbury, CT – August 18, 2014 –The Watermark at East Hill is pleased to announce that artwork from eleven of its residents has been selected for consideration in the Watermark Retirement Communities’ national calendar competition.
Artwork from the residents was selected at the community’s seventh annual juried art show, and will now be sent to the Watermark Retirement Communities national resource center in Tucson, Arizona for judging. Their work will compete with resident work from Watermark’s 37 communities across the country for a spot in the 2015 Watermark Expressions calendar.
“We are delighted to have nearly a dozen residents recognized as a part of this year’s competition,” said Connie Haworth, Executive Director at The Watermark at East Hill. “Each has created truly impressive pieces, and we wish the best of luck to all who could potentially end up in a calendar seen by thousands of people nationwide!”

Winners this year were residents Erwin Frank (“Toy Race Car”), Helen Frisbie (“Blooming Stitches”), Joan Sprung (“Red Breasted Nuthatch”) and Ursula Frank (“Mayan”).
Runners-up were residents Judy Asselin (“Lavendar Vase”), Ellie Crystal (“Scrabble Board”), Aldine Dunn (“Enter My Home”), Marilyn Homescheid (“Tie Dye”), Connie McCabe (“Abstract Expression”), Ettie Mae Mikhael (“Vase With Flowers”), Harriet Starr (“Miranda”) and Ursula Frank (“Necklace”).

National winners will be chosen in the fall, with calendars printed in time for the holidays.
