The Watermark at East Hill Hosts Candle Light Vigil In Honor of National Alzheimer's Awareness Month

The senior living community will host its annual Commemorative Candle Lighting ceremony for National Alzheimer's Disease Awareness Month

On Sunday, November 9, The Watermark at East Hill will be hosting its annual National Commemorative Candle Lighting ceremony, and event designed to honor those with Alzheimer’s disease. The event is free of charge and open to the public and will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the senior living community located at 611 East Hill Road in Southbury.

The National Commemorative Candle Lighting is an annual event held each year to recognize November as National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month. Local organizations and communities across the United States hold inspirational ceremonies in a show of solidarity, uniting individuals from coast to coast as they light candles in memory of family and friends affected by the disease.

This year’s ceremony will feature music from resident Joan Sprung and a reading of the National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month Prayer, in addition to remarks from resident Retta Fagin, who will discuss her own experience caring for her husband, who had Alzheimer’s.
