Watermark Retirement Communities Honors East Hill Associates
Associates at Southbury senior living community recognized with national awards for exemplary service
Southbury, CT – September 2, 2014 – The Watermark at East Hill recently held a ceremony honoring recipients of Watermark Retirement Communities’ annual “Thrive Awards.” The awards are given to associates from Watermark’s 38 communities nationwide who exemplify the company’s vision of creating extraordinary communities where people thrive.
“We are delighted to recognize more than a dozen of our outstanding associates this year,” said Connie Haworth, Executive Director of The Watermark at East Hill and “Thrive Award” recipient. “It is an honor to be in the company of so many dedicated individuals, who make our community a better place to live and work every day.”
Wendy Leftwich, Director of Human Resources from Southbury, CT, was awarded a “Rookie of the Year Award.” This honor is given to an associate who has made exceptional progress in their first year at the community.

The national “Pet Ambassador of the Year Award” was given to a four-legged resident at The Watermark – Sadie, a 12-year-old Labrador retriever who has lived at the community since 2013. This award is given to a pet that brings companionship, loyalty and fun to residents and associates. Sadie currents resides and is cared for by residents of The Villa, The Watermark at East Hill’s state-of-the-art memory care community.
Additional Thrive Awards were given to the following associates: Kacie Baldwin, Jessica Brown, Leslie Evanoski, Robert Gardner, Cindy Jones, Heather Kimball, Diane Knecht, Jessica Langevin, Kyle Mazza, Kathy Pear, Sande Pond, Kathleen Pye, Patricia Strub and Allison Turner.
