Woodbury BEDC Looking to Promote Area Restaurants
At a meeting of the Woodbury BEDC Wednesday officials discussed the idea of expanding the committee website to publicize area eateries.

Marketing continues to be a focal point for the current administration in Woodbury.
Officials discussed possibilities to promote town restaurants at the Woodbury Business and Economic Development Committee meeting Wednesday evening.
The committee discussed the idea of expanding the BEDC website to offer publicity for area eateries by creating a restaurant section that would supply interested patrons a chance to view menus and restaurant photos.

"We have an abundance of great restaurants in Woodbury and I think it's a wonderful idea to display that on our committee page," said BEDC Chairman Joe Donato.
Restaurant owners, like Judy Doran, owner of Woodbury's , have been generating ideas to enhance publicity around the community, especially with the tourist crowd.

"Most people that come to Woodbury from out of town come here for the antique shops," said Doran. "What I want to do is create a folder or binder with menus from all of the restaurants in town and put them in the shops. It would make visitors more likely to go if they could check out the menus themselves."
Doran has also offered to display literature such as town events and information on shelves in the atrium of her restaurant to promote Woodbury. First Selectman Jerry Stomski was fond of this contribution, and said the online recognition would be a way to promote the restaurants in return.
"I think it's great that you'll let us put information in your restaurant," said Stomski. "In return we could link your business, specifically on the BEDC website, if we could create a restaurant section."
Stomski has made it clear one of his major objectives is to market the town better than it has been in the past, and that promoting what Woodbury has to offer is a high priority.
"There's no reason why we can't promote businesses through our website," said Stomski. "It's free publicity."
Donato said the committee is in the process of revamping the current website, which can be viewed at http://woodburyct.org/bedc/.
