Woodbury Bids on Old Toll Gate Inn Property: Report

WOODBURY, CT — The foreclosed Old Toll Gate Inn property on Washington Road in Woodbury has drawn interest from the town through a bid, reports the Waterbury Republican-American.

Woodbury plans to bid $50,000 at auction for the property, which owes the town more than $150,000 in back taxes.

The property, which most recently housed a now defunct bar, was recently appraised at $125,000, so the town's bid sets a floor for the bidding on the property, according to the publication. So Woodbury is assured to receive at least $50,000 if others bid on the site.
