Woodbury Fire Chief Reminds on Burn Permits
Quiet July 4th Weekend After Fires July 1st and 2nd

Woodbury – Fire Chief Janet B. Morgan warned Woodbury town residents Monday July 6th that a permit is needed for all outdoor burns. “We dealt with some minor calls over the Fourth of July holiday,” she said. “Fortunately there was no damage or injuries. The woods, fields, and brush are dry despite the thunderstorms. Please follow the rules and get permission for burning anything outside.”
Earlier the Woodbury Volunteer Fire department dealt with a truck engine fire on Route 6 Wednesday July1st. Engine four and a crew of six under Chief Morgan responded. As Fire Lt. Chris Start summed up, “We had a truck fire. We put it out.” The next day July 2nd, downed electrical wires on Tuttle Road created a small, stubborn grassfire. Engine four and Brush Truck seven under Capt Lee Warner cordoned off the live wires and put out the blaze.
