WOODBURY – The Woodbury Fire Dept rolled Engines 4 and 8 to take ten children to Mitchell Elementary School on Friday June 12th with sirens howling briefly to mark the start of school. Brantley and Landon took along eight best friends as the prize won by their dad and mom Stephen and Ashley Marie Dayton in a PTO fundraiser earlier in the year. “We donated two rides for two different families,” said Deputy Fire Chief Dave Lampart, “and this was the second. It’s a happy break from the usual calls. We’ve been responding to fires and other emergencies such as downed power lines at the rate of more than two a day.”

Firefighters participating were Deputy Chief Lampart, Fire Capt.Corey Shaker, Firefighters Robert Start and Jonathan Kapstein. When not responding to fire or emergency dispatches, Lampart is an executive with an multi-station FM radio company, Shaker is CEO of an automotive group, Start works for Norcomm, and Kapstein is retired.
