The Woodbury Volunteer Fire Department held their quarterly "team drill” for the Rope Rescue Team Tuesday.
The drill enforced a scenario where firefighters were told they had a victim at the bottom of a ravine and to get them out they could only take the party up and then out.
“They handled the task with ease and completed the job in under an hour,” said Woodbury Fire Marshall Janet Morgan.
Morgan said during such training sessions each step is reviewed as it is completed and any corrections that need to be made are taught on the spot during the exercise. This allows firefighters to be ready to jump into a similar situation, should one occur.
“When the true emergency happens their set up is second nature,” said Morgan
