State Police Release Statistics for Labor Day Weekend [Update]
Speeding and other unnamed violations make up the majority of holiday weekend enforcements.

Troop A reported the arrest of a Woodbury man at approximately 12:05 a.m. Sat., Sept. 3.
Christopher Douglas Lyons, 27, of 10 Hazel Plain Rd., was charged with alleged driving while intoxicated after Southbury police observed him crossing the center line while southbound on Southford Road, Troop A reported.
Lyons was released on $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Wed., Sept. 14, police reported.

State Police Lt. J. Paul Vance reported the following statistics from the holiday weekend.
The enforcement actions taken by state police from Friday, Sept. 2 to Monday, Sept. 5, are as follows: 1,249 for speeding, 101 seat belt violations, 2,045 in other unnamed violations and 49 DWIs.

State police reported 300 accidents during the holiday weekend: 14 accidents resulted in injury, one was fatal and two deaths occurred.
