Woodbury Man Dies While Awaiting Treatment at Waterbury Hospital: Report

Abip Sadiku was taken to the hospital Friday with stomach pains.

WOODBURY, CT — According to the family of Abip Sadiku, the Woodbury resident died Friday at Waterbury Hospital after waiting more than four hours but never receiving treatment for stomach pain, reports the Waterbury Republican-American.

Family members reportedly begged doctors to help Sadiku, who they said was crying in pain, but they never came to his aid. Sadiku had been brought to the hospital by ambulance just after 5 p.m., the publication writes.

The death has sparked anger in the community at the incident. Hospital officials, citing patient privacy laws, declined to comment on the specifics but offered the Sadiku family their condolences.
