Woodbury Police Blotter: Painted Car, Power Tool Theft

Thefts dominated the recent batch of police news in Woodbury. Anyone with information on cases still under investigation may call the Police Department at 203-263-3400.

Two Bikes Missing

Police are investigating a theft of two bikes from Anthony Derosa and Nicholas Perrault, both of 302 Tuttle Rd., according to a Saturday, July 23, police report.  Officer Dana Lent reported the case.

Vandals Paint Car

An unknown person poured blue paint on a red 2001 Dodge Stratus belonging to East Hill Road resident Nicholas Draven between 11 p.m. Monday, July 25, and 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 26. Officer Tim Wright reported that it appears the paint will wash off and not cause permanent damage.

Power Tool Theft

Officer Tim Wright is investigating a Wednesday, July 27, theft of power tools from Dietrich Gardens, 155 Main St. North.

Replacement Telephone Pole

A telephone pole needed replacing after a 6:06 p.m. one-car accident Monday, August 1, on Route 6, near Minortown Road. Lane Bond, 17, of 104 Nonnewaug Rd., was southbound on Route 6 when his car traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck the telephone pole.  The pole snapped in half and CL&P replaced the pole, according to police.

The report stated that Mr. Bond sustained no injuries and asked that his car be towed from the scene. He was given a written warning for restricted turning. Officer Stephen Tokarz investigated.

Stolen Checks and Card

A bank card and checks were reported stolen from a car parked behind New Morning Natural and Organic, 738 Main St. South, on Monday, August 1. Officer Frans Dielemans is investigating the case.
