Woodbury Police Report Three Incidents

One DUI, one hit-and-run and one attempted avoidance of a traffic stop are reported in the Woodbury police report.

Three incidents from Saturday, Sept. 17, to Sunday, Sept. 19, were reported by Woodbury police.

 

DUI Arrest

According to police, Karl Nelson, 51, of 23 Mountain View, Brookfield, was arrested on Saturday, Sept. 17, for driving under the influence and failure to keep right.

He was issued a $500 bond and a Monday, Sept. 26, court date.

Nelson was arrested pursuant to a warrant obtained by the Woodbury Police Department upon completing an investigation of a Friday, July 29, car accident.

Hit and Run

Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident that took place at approximately 7:59 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, on Old Town Farm Rd.

Sarah K. Watson, 21, of 133 White Deer Rocks Rd., was southbound on Old Town Farm Road. The evading vehicle was northbound on Old Town Farm Road, when it reportedly crossed the yellow line into the southbound lane and struck the left side mirror of Watson's car.

The vehicle then fled the scene.

Officer Richard Marsh is investigating the incident.

 

The Old Run-around Results in Arrest

When Jacob Gerwin, 18, of 92 Sprain Brook Rd., came across a police officer working on a traffic assignment at noon Monday, Sept. 19, on Railtree Hill Road, he reportedly stopped and put his vehicle in reverse.

According to the police report, while Gerwin was traveling in reverse at a high rate of speed, he lost control of the vehicle and backed up an embankment on the left side of the road.

Gerwin's vehicle rolled over onto the roadway and came to rest on its four wheels, according to police. Gerwin was not injured, police said.

He was charged with reckless driving, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and issued a Thursday, Oct. 6, court date.
