Woodbury Purchases Three New Police Cruisers

Woodbury purchased two new Crown Victorias and a Ford Explorer.

Woodbury First Selectman Gerald D. Stomski announced last week that the town has purchased three new police cars to replace three old cars.

The town purchased two new Ford, Crown Victoria -Police Interceptors and one four-wheel drive Ford Explorer.

Mr. Stomski states, “The four wheel drive Explorer was especially handy this winter on our hilly streets and roads. The Woodbury Police are usually the first to respond to an emergency with arrival time being extremely important. The Police Interceptors replace two older cars which had very high mileage and high maintenance costs.”

According to Stomski the town purchased the cars without using taxpayers money. They were purchased out of a Special Revenue Account where the money for the purchases of police cars is put aside when the police are providing private duty.
