Woodbury Residents Urged To Be Vigilant Over New Scam
Local officials shared details of a new fundraising scam targeting local residents.
WOODBURY, CT — Woodbury Fire Chief Janet Morgan warned town residents Thursday not to respond to a phony request for funds to benefit firefighters. She said fundraising calls purporting to benefit the Woodbury department have been reported, but Morgan said the calls are not legitimate, town officials posted on its website.
The so-called Volunteer Fire Fighters Association has no link whatsoever with the department, Morgan said, according to the town's website.
