Zoning Variance Granted to Woodbury Resident after Mistakenly Obtaining Permit
The resident received a permit for his structure, which violated zoning regulations.

The Woodbury Zoning Board of Appeals granted a variance on Monday for an almost completed barn, the Republican-American reports.
The resident constructing the barn, Adam Bonito, mistakenly received a zoning permit despite the barn violating zoning regulations.
According to the paper, the structure violated a regulation against a building being 1.5 times larger than the size of the principal building’s ground floor. Brian Miller, the town’s planning consultant and zoning enforcement officer, issued the permit in April saying he relied on a faulty sketch.

The motion passed 4-1 declaring that Bonito had established a hardship justifying the variance as he had obtained the zoning permit and had already constructed the barn, the paper reports.
The variance included additional zoning conditions for Bonito’s property.
