The Polytech High School Panthers struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Milford, giving up 12 runs.Milford took the lead for good with four runs in the second inning. In the second, Milford scored four runs off of errors.Milford scored five runs in the third inning. The big inning for Milford came thanks to doubles by Bullock and Burris and a single by Fountain.Reynolds led things off on the rubber for Milford. The Lady Knights won the North matchup with Cape behind a strong pitching performance from Madge Layfield. Madge threw a no hitter with 17 strikeouts.She was supported with a solid offensive effort throughout the line up, with Kaylee Verosko and Cat Hassler supplying 2 hits each.
Cape's young defense made some excellent plays including a nice 6-4-3 double play.
