Newark Charter 1 Laurel 0 The Patriots came out to a strong start scoring 1 run in the top of the 1st. Ashlee Trala lead off the game with a walk and quickly advanced to second on a wild pitch. Bryn O'Connor laid down a sac bunt to move Ashlee to third and Sami Sobocinski drove in the ony run of the day. Pitching was strong on both sides today. Olivia Stubblebine threw a gem and shut out the Bulldogs allowing the Patriots to hold on to the early lead besting Laurel by a score of 1-0.

Conrad 2 Padua 0 Bella McKee pitched a one hitter to help lead Conrad over Padua. Morgan Jones was 2 for 3 on the day & had the game winning hit in the 6th inning on a 2 out, 2 strike hit with runners on 2nd & 3rd. Adge Pesce was perfect at the plate going 3 for 3.Lauren Schurman struck out 11 for Padua.

Caesar Rodney 1 Sussex Tech 0 HR:Highlights: Peyton Shields didn't allow a single run as Caesar Rodney Riders Varsity defeated Sussex Tech 1-0 on Thursday. Shields allowed just two hits.The pitching was strong on both sides. Shields struck out 13, while H Justic sat down three.Caesar Rodney Riders Varsity got on the board in the first inning when Stacey Deputy singled on a 2-count, scoring one run.A double by K Penrod in the first inning was a positive for Sussex Tech.Shields pitched Caesar Rodney Riders Varsity to victory. The pitcher allowed two hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out 13.Justic took the loss for Sussex Tech. St. Marks 12 St. Elizabeth 0 Morgan Hall and Ryleigh Thomas led St Marks with 3 hits each. Maddie Casapulla added 2 hits including her first HR. Carly Maxton struck out 9. Hailey Rambo doubled for St. Elizabeths.

Milford 12 Polytech 5 Polytech High SChool Panthers fell behind early and couldn't come bak in a 12-5 loss to Milford on Thursday. Milford scored on a groundout by Dickerson in the first inning. The Polytech High School Panthers struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Milford, giving up 12 runs.Milford took the lead for good with four runs in the second inning. In the second, Milford scored four runs off of errors.Milford scored five runs in the third inning. The big inning for Milford came thanks to doubles by Bullock and Burris and a single by Fountain.Reynolds led things off on the rubber for Milford. The ace allowed nine hits and five runs over seven innings, striking out seven and walking one.Davis led things off in the pitcher's circle for Polytech High School Panthers. The righty surrendered ten runs, five earned, on nine hits over three innings, striking out one and walking one. Everton threw four innings in relief out of the bullpen.Mitchell went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Polytech High School Panthers in Hits. Carey lead the Panthers with 2 RBI and Sample had 1 RBI.

Indian River 5 Lake Forest 0 Lake Forest Varsity Spartans fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 5-0 loss to Indian River on Thursday. Indian River scored on a single by Shaub in the first inning and a error in the second inning. Hall was the winning pitcher for Indian River allowimg four hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out 17 and walking one. Carah Sumpter took the loss for Lake Forest Varsity Spartans going seven innings, allowing five runs on nine hits, striking out six and walking one.Stewart went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Lake Forest Varsity Spartans in hits.Indian River totaled nine hits. Collins, Hoban, and Wade each collected multiple hits for Indian River.

Sussex Central 9 Cape Henlopen 0

The Lady Knights won the North matchup with Cape behind a strong pitching performance from Madge Layfield. Madge threw a no hitter with 17 strikeouts.She was supported with a solid offensive effort throughout the line up, with Kaylee Verosko and Cat Hassler supplying 2 hits each.
Cape's young defense made some excellent plays including a nice 6-4-3 double play.
