11 Christina Counselors Recognized by DE School Counselor Association

11 Christina counselors were recognized at the Delaware School Counselor Association (DSCA) dinner

The Christina School District is proud to announce that 11 of our exceptional counselors were recently honored at the Delaware School Counselor Association (DSCA) recognition dinner for their nominations for the State Counselor of the Year Award. DSCA received over 300 nominations this year. Out of those, 148 were deemed eligible, and among them, 11 counselors from the Christina School District made it to the final list of eligible nominees. The honored counselors are:

  • Dr. Alexis Ridgeway, Brader ES
  • Sharnell Davis, Leasure ES
  • Jessica DiRienzo, Marshall ES
  • Martina Fontana-Daguerre, Marshall ES
  • Martha Lee, Glasgow HS
  • Asha Fersner, Downes ES
  • Laura Krapf (Malmstrom), Sarah Pyle Academy
  • Deloris Williams, Pritchett Academy
  • Naomi Boutros, Keene ES
  • Amber Logan, West Park Place ES
  • Leah Oliver-Kuykendall, Wilson ES

Additionally, three of our counselors advanced to the quarter-finalist round, out of just 12 total candidates:

  • Amber Logan, West Park Place ES
  • Leah Oliver-Kuykendall, Wilson ES

We're especially proud to announce that… Leah Oliver-Kuykendall from Wilson Elementary School has made it to the semi-finals and is officially in the running to be named the 2025 DSCA Counselor of the Year! The State Counselor of the Year winner will be announced at the DSCA conference in April. Please join us in wishing Leah the best of luck as she competes for this amazing honor!
