1. Wilmington Man Dies Weeks After Two-Vehicle Crash on West Newport Pike (tvdelmarva.com) — Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal August 18 crash on West Newport Pike in Wilmington that has now claimed the life of 75-year-old resident Walter Howell. Another Wilmington man driving the other vehicle survived, and investigators are asking anyone who saw the collision or has video to contact Troop 2 or Delaware Crime Stoppers for help.
   

2. A Wilmington Wawa Stop Took a Frightening Turn, Police Say (mychesco.com) — Police are asking Wilmington residents for help locating a Philadelphia woman accused of violently stealing a companion's car outside the Wawa on Rocky Run Parkway on Sept. 5. Troopers say no one was injured, but a warrant is out for second-degree robbery, and anyone with information is urged to contact Delaware State Police or Crime Stoppers.
   

3. Odyssey Charter School unveils new K-5 Immersion Building (orthodoxobserver.org) — Odyssey Charter School in Wilmington has opened a new K-5 Immersion Building, expanding its distinctive Greek language program where students learn core subjects in both Greek and English. Community, church, and school leaders joined a blessing and celebration that highlighted how the program serves mostly non-Greek families while deepening cultural education for Wilmington-area students.
   

4. DBT40 Honoree: Caitlin Aunet (delawarebusinesstimes.com) — A University of Delaware alum now helping run the Horn Entrepreneurship program is also deeply involved in Wilmington's civic life, from a local coworking space to the Wilmington Children's Choir. Caitlin Aunet's work connects entrepreneurs, students, and community groups, while she volunteers with festivals and service clubs that shape Wilmington's cultural and business scene.
   

5. DSHA awards nearly $3.5 million for eight large Downtown Development Districts projects (delawarepublic.org) — Wilmington is set to benefit from Delaware State Housing Authority's latest Downtown Development District funding, with five local projects sharing in nearly $3.5 million awarded statewide. The grants will help spur private investment, support affordable housing, boost small businesses, and enhance downtown living in Wilmington and other Delaware towns.
