We're excited to celebrate Jeffrey Dombchik, Christiana High School Band Director, who has recently been selected as one of Delaware Football's 2026 Extra Yard for Teachers honorees!
Blue Hens fans nominated Mr. Dombchik for the impact he makes on his students, school, and community. As a music educator, he does so much more than teach students how to perform—he helps them develop confidence, discipline, teamwork, leadership, and a sense of belonging.
As one of three educators selected for this year's honor, Mr. Dombchik received a $3,000 grant for Christiana High School, courtesy of the College Football Playoff Foundation. He was also recognized during Delaware Football's Educator Appreciation Day game against Coastal Carolina on Saturday, September 19.
And in true Mr. Dombchik fashion, he was already there with his students for Band Day, leading the Christiana High School Band as they took part in the game-day experience.
Congratulations, Mr. Dombchik! Thank you for the countless ways you inspire, encourage, and support our students. We're proud to have you representing Christiana High School and Christina School District!
