Angelique Boyce Named Christina School District's 2026-2027 Behavioral Health Professional of the Year!

We are proud to announce that Angelique Boyce has been named as Christina's 2026-2027 Behavioral Health Professional of the Year!

Today, Angel received a surprise visit from District leaders, including Superintendent Dr. Deirdra Joyner, Assistant Superintendents Dr. Courtney Voshell and Norman Kennedy, Director of Student Services Dr. Gina Moody, Student Services Manager Dr. Gabi Koury, District Lead Nurse Susan Webber, Sarah Pyle Academy Principal Kristina Macbury, and CSD’s 2025-2026 BHPOY Amber Logan.

Angel was recognized for her exceptional ability to connect with students through active listening, trauma-informed strategies, and a balance of empathy and firmness. Her dedication to building trust and providing crisis intervention and mental health counseling makes her an invaluable member of our school community. Angel’s problem-solving skills and critical thinking also make her a trusted resource for fellow nurses across the district.

The BHPOY Award is given to school employees who are health care practitioners or human service providers who offer services for improving an individual's mental health. School employees include school counselors, school social workers, licensed clinical social workers, school psychologists, and school nurses. Eligibility includes: at least three years experience as a behavioral health professional, certification, or licensure credential through the Department of Education and/or the Professional Regulation Board and the recipient must continue to serve in a behavioral health position for the award year.

Angel will represent Christina in the State of Delaware's Behavioral Health Professional of the Year Program, where only one person is chosen each year. Congratulations to Angel on receiving this prestigious honor, and a heartfelt congratulations to all of our nominated staff members.
