
Celebrate New Sweden Day. Commemorate the 1638 arrival of Swedish and Finnish settlers and relationships with the Lenape, at this free, family-friendly festival featuring living history demonstrations, music, and cannon firings. Visitors of all ages can enjoy cultural displays, interactive educational activities, and self-guided tours of the Copeland Maritime Center to explore the story of the New Sweden Colony. At wreath-laying ceremony at 1:30pm will feature music by IVA, appearances by the Swedish ambassador, the Chief of the Delaware Lenape, and other prominent dignitaries.
