The Christina School District, in partnership with Christiana Care Health Services and Nemours Children’s Health, is thrilled to announce two Sports Physical Open Clinics. These clinics are open to all Christina School District students planning to participate in sports during the 2026-2027 school year.

Remember, all middle and high school students must have a sports physical exam before they can compete. No appointment is necessary, and the clinic is completely FREE for Christina School District students. Don’t miss this opportunity to ensure your student is ready to take on the field!

Trinity Episcopal Parish

CoroAllegro, under the direction of Artistic Director David Simmons, and now celebrating its 39th season, will present a concert reflecting on the American story — its founding ideals, its struggles for equality and justice, and its enduring hope. Through music that spans centuries and voices that speak to freedom, responsibility, and resilience, the chorus will explore what America has been — and what it still aspires to become. Concert includes works by Leonard Bernstein, Gwyneth Walker, Andre Thomas, Dan Forrest, Jake Runestad, Carol Barnett, Billy Taylor, Rollo Dillworth, Brian Foy and Kyle Pederson. Accompanied by collaborative pianist Julie Nishimura and guest instrumentalists, it will be an evening that will lift your spirits as we lift our voices in song!

Set against the stirring soundscape of sea shanties, The Chequerboard Watch tells the tale of a crew of sailors on a challenging voyage aboard the 19th-century clipper ship, the Blue Jacket. What begins as a smooth voyage to South Australia quickly goes awry due to the captain’s orders going against the natural rhythms of the sea, and ultimately, the well-being and safety of his crew. Dive into the depths of human solidarity with this thrilling tale of how the songs and spirits of the sea forge bonds that transcend all divides.

Old Swedes Historic Site

The Serafins to salute “Revolution &amp; Independence” in a free concert April 19th at Old Swedes 
In celebration of the nation’s 250th birthday, The Arts at Trinity (TAAT) will present Delaware’s acclaimed Serafin Ensemble in “Revolution &amp; Independence,” a concert of chamber music from America’s Late Colonial and Revolutionary periods, on Sunday, April 19th, at 4 p.m., at Old Swedes Church &amp; Historic Site, 606 N. Church St., Wilmington, DE. Admission is free.
“We’re inviting the public to come enjoy fashionable music of the 17th and 18th centuries in a venerable setting that was old before the nation was born – Old Swedes Church, Trinity Parish’s founding church, dating from 1699,” said David Simmons, Trinity Parish’s music director. 
The program will include a string quartet by no less than Benjamin Franklin, string trios by one America’s earliest published composers, John Antes (1740-1811), and showpieces by Italian composer Arcangelo Corelli, a key figure in the artistic development of the modern violin. 
“We’re looking forward to welcoming the public to a delightful, entertaining and informative event. TAAT is pleased to offer its concerts free of charge, grateful to audience members for their voluntary donations,” Simmons said. 
As with all TAAT concerts, admission and parking are free, including a post-concert reception to meet the artists on the historic grounds. Old Swedes Church and grounds were designated a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Historic_Landmark" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">National Historic Landmark</a> in 1961 and became part of <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_State_National_Historical_Park" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">First State National Historical Park</a> in 2013.

The Serafins: Music of 'Revolution & Independence' 

Yale School Performing Arts Center

Y.A.L.E. School, a private special education school serving students with disabilities ages 3-21, will host the sixth annual Tri-State Ability Art Show: Metropolis on April 24 &amp; 25 at its Performing Arts Center in Cherry Hill. The Art Show will showcase artwork by students with disabilities in grades K-12 and ages 18-21 from across New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware. Highlighting student talents, the exhibit emphasizes the significance of creative expression, acceptance and inclusion.
Awards will be announced at the Opening Reception on Friday, April 24 from 6-9 p.m., which will also feature live music from young musicians and craft activities for children of all ages. The Gallery, along with a Craft Fair, will be held on Saturday, April 25 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. There is no cost to attend, and all are invited.
