Charter School Of Wilmington National Blue Ribbon Video Released

The Charter School of Wilmington is one of 362 National Blue Ribbon Schools selected in 2019. The U. S. Department of Education visited the Junior Science Fair in January 2020 and created a video to highlight the event and our Junior Research program. CSW was one of only five high schools in the nation to receive this additional honor.

U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos shared the list of selected schools on Thursday, September 26, 2019. Schools were recognized based on their overall academic excellence or their progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups. In Delaware, two other schools were among this year’s designees, Delaware Military Academy and West Park Place Elementary School. All three schools attended a recognition ceremony in Washington, DC on November 14 and 15.

CSW was first recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School in 2013. As an Exemplary High Performing School, CSW is among Delaware’s highest performing schools as measured by state assessments or nationally normed tests. Since 1982, the U. S. Department of Education has sought out and celebrated great American schools. The National Blue Ribbon School award affirms the hard work of students, educators, families, and communities in creating safe and welcoming schools where students master challenging content.

The Charter School of Wilmington is chartered by the Red Clay Consolidated School District.
