Baseball

Tommy Pomatto pitched a complete game with 10 strikeouts and no walks to pace the Riders to another 5-4 conference victory over Dover. Matt Atkinson and Peyton Lavender both doubled for the Riders. Dominic Velazquez and Michael Carrington both had multiple hits for the Senators. Andrew Carney had a homerun and 2 RBI. Velazquez struck out 10 for Dover.

Chad Lopes picked up his first varsity win in relief, scattering 7 hits. Kyle Motley had 4 hits for the Hillers as they defeated the Hornets of Tatnall 11-6. Tatnall's Brody Clayton had three hits.

Regan Ogden led woodbridge going 3-4. Dylan Gros earned the win scattering five hits and striking out 7 as the Panthers of Polytech defeated the Blue Raiders of Woodbridge 11-6.

Robert Hollenbeck threw 4 no-hit innings with 8 strikeouts to pace the Sussex Central Golden Knights to a 10-1 win over Seaford. Hollenbeck and Kyle Briggs each had 2 hits for the Knights, and Javon Toppin added 2 runs scored. Caden Dickerson doubled for the Blue Jays.

Chad Reichold struck out 8 over 7 innings to earn the 6-4 victory for the Bucs. Brock Hilligoss and Jaxson Turner combined for 5 rbi to pace the Milford offense. Bryce Greenly and Caden Stanley also had multiple hits. For the Ravens, Matt Warrington hit a 2 run hr in the 5th inning and also struck out 7 in 4 innings of work. Grant Lamers had 2 hits and a rbi.

Jordan Haddaway & Chris Richardson scattered 6 hits, and the Wildcats collected 12 of their own in the 12-2 win over Laurel.

Gavin Lambert and Jack Imbrugia led the bulldogs both going 4 for 4 which counted for 8 of the 21 hit as they defeated the Highlanders of McKean 22-0. Josh Niemann , Calvin Donohue and Michael Pagliei contributed doubles. McKean's Brandon Ferrara accounted for their one hit.

Jack Nielsen scattered 6 hits and allowed one earned run over 6 1/3 innings to earn the 8-3 victory for the Auks. Nielsen helped his cause by going 2-4 with 2 RBI's. Collin Jensen scored 2 runs and Jason Roux had 3 hits and 2 RBI's to pace the Auk offense. Nate McVey hit a home run and Noah Finocchiro had 2 hits and a run scored for the Hawks.

Cole Dunn struck out 5 in a complete gam 4-0 shutout for Middletown. Corey Loper was 2-3 for the Cavs. Devin McClendon added a double and 2 RBI. Jeremy Carrow gave up 2 earned runs over 5.1 innings while striking out 9 for Smyrna. Larsen Wilson was 2-3 for the Eagles.

:Dustin Sutton earned the 28-1 victory for Conrad vs MOT Charter giving up no hits, no runs and 4 strike outs in 3 innings. John O'Connor closed it out on the mound for Conrad. Dan Marcon, Jeremy Coleman and Kyle Walker had multiple hits for Conrad. Ryan Bond had a hit for MOT Charter.

Jonathan Hines pitched 5 innings for the 14-5 win recording 6 ks. Nicolas Hertzfeld went 3-3 scoring 3 runs and he drove in 3 runs. Hertzfeld also stole 4 bags. Colin Smith had 2 hits for the Seahawks. RLCA- Sam Hardcastle and Noah Dahllof had 2 hit each for RLCS.

In a back and forth game, Vinnie Green's 2 rbi single in the 4th inning put Caravel ahead for good 5-3. Joey Silan had 2 hits and 1 rbi. Ethan DeRegis had 2 doubles Cole Reynolds earned his first win of the year. Shawn Haut and Ryan Speed each had a hit for the Silver Eagles.

Adam Tommer and David Andrews led the Concord offense, both with three hits and two RBI’s as they defeated Sanford 14-0. Will Rhodunda added two hits for Concord. Isiah Bracey singled for Sanford.

Hank Wilkerson pitched a complete game 11-2 win over the Green Knights of Mt. Pleasant giving up 1 earned run and striking out 12 he also went 4 for 5 with 3 runs and 2 rbis. Alex Palomo went 2 for 2 with 4 rbis for William Penn.

Hayden Trimarco threw a complete two hit shutout game for St. Elizabeth 2-0. Joey Davis threw a complete game for Appoquinimink. Brett Brooks had two hits for St. Elizabeth.

Glasgow Dragons Grab Lead In Fifth Inning To Defeat Wilmington Friends

Glasgow stole the lead late and defeated Wilmington Friends 11-6 on Tuesday. The game was tied at four with the Dragons batting in the bottom of the fifth when Daryn Bacon doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.The base paths were crowded in this high-scoring game. Glasgow collected 11 hits and Wilmington Friends had four.The Dragons got on the board in the first inning when Andre Claudio singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.Wilmington Friends knotted the game up at four in the top of the fourth inning. John Hanson's sac fly scored one run for Wilmington Friends.Glasgow put up four runs in the sixth inning. The Dragons big inning was driven by singles by Hakeem Bell and Vaughn Park and a walk by Dominic Joseph.Wilmington Friends scored three runs in the second inning. The big inning for Wilmington Friends came thanks to a single by Hanson and a double by Jack Taylor.Reginald Grinnell pitched Glasgow to victory. He went six innings, allowing four runs on four hits and striking out six. Claudio threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Claudio recorded the last three outs to earn the save for the Dragons.Tristan Pantano was on the mound for Wilmington Friends. He allowed six hits and four runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out five. Liam Hudgings, Jake Luckangelo, and Peter Cauchy each contributed in relief for Wilmington Friends.Glasgow tallied 11 hits on the day. Bacon, Park, and Grinnell all managed multiple hits for the Dragons. Bacon went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Glasgow in hits. The Dragons didn't commit a single error in the field. Bacon had the most chances in the field with eight.Taylor led Wilmington Friends with two hits in two at bats. Samuel Gise had three stolen bases.

Delcastle's James Wade pitched 5 innings, striking out 3 to earn his first Varsity 14-0 victory over the Sussex Academy. Dave McGonigle and Jason Ryan collected 3 hits each for the Cougars. Danny Maldonado drove in 4 runs to pace Delcastle's offense. Troy Julian singled for the Seahawks.

4 goals by Eric McNeil and Peyton McNeill, 2 goals by River Harper paced the Quakers of Wilmington Friends to an 11-6 win over the Hornets of Tatnall. Lain Singer led the Hornets with 2 goals.

4 goals by Jack Kidwell and Lawrence Brown paced the Red Wolves of Conrad to a 12-5 win over the Bulldogs of Brandywine.

4 goals by Zachary Newsome, 2 each by Tom Lindenhofen and Steven Salerni paced the Raiders of Concord to a 12-5 win over the Tigers of AI DuPont.

7 goals by William Niezbrowdowski paced the Dover Senators to an 11-10 win over the Warriors of Sanford in overtime.

4 goals by Cole Bauer, 3 goals each by Nolan Collins, Mitchell Moyer and Brian Neill paced the Auks of Archmere to a 16-3 win over the Patriots of Newark Charter.

5 goals by Max Ruggerio paced the Seahawks of DMA to a 15-1 win over Red Lion.

5 goals by Kendra Schweizer 3 goals by Megan Noonan and 2 each by Paige Magargee and Claire Estes paced the Lady Spartans of St. Marks to a 13-10 win over the Lady Raiders of Ursuline. The Lady Raiders were led by Jane Lyons with 3 goals 2 by Maxine String and Lexi Goff.

3 goals by Madison Burke paced the Lady Seahawks of Sussex Academy to a 16-3 win over the Lady Ravens of St. Thomas More.

5 goals by Jada Mann, 4 by Joyce Keller 3 each by Emma Fisher and Katelyn Riley paced the Lady Cavaliers of Middletown to a 17-1 win over the Lady Hawks of St. Georges.

3 goals by Jordan Bramble,Ava Ruggerio and Rachel Delate 2 by Grace DiGiovanni paced the Lady Pandas of Padua to an 11-9 win over the Lady Force of Charter. The Lady Force was led by Elyse Lamey with 4 goals, 3 by Haley Amato and 2 by Annika Sernyak.

6 goals by Brianna Pennell, 5 by Tayla Wibecam paced the Lady Silver Eagles of Hodgson to a 12-8 win over the Lady Yellowjackets of Newark.

6 goals by Shelby Graser, 5 goals by Kristin Cunningham paced the Lady Jaguars of Appoquinimink to an 18-5 win over the Lady Bulldogs of Brandywine.

5 goals by Samantha Karr and 4 goals by Madison Karr paced the Patriots of Newark Charter to a 16-10 win over the Lady Hornets of Tatnall. The Lady Hornets were led by Lara Jensen, Hadley Morgan and Jessica Principe.

5 goals by Grace Bailer, 4 by Sarah Zungailia, 3 by Taylor Stenz paced the Lady Hillers of Tower Hill to a 17-5 win over the Lady Quakers of Wilmington Friends.

Softball

Grace Aguilar had a great day at bat for lake with a double, triple and going 2-3 with 2 RBIs paced the Lady Spartans of Lake Forest to an 8-0 win over North Caroline . North Caroline's Trice went 2-3.

The Red Wolves defense was led by pitcher, Graceyn Frost, who threw a no-hit shutout with 12 Ks. as they defeated MOT Charter by a 17-0 win. The offense was led by Graceyn Frost who went 3-3 with a triple, Mackenzie Spadea who went 2-3 with a double and a triple, and Caitlyn Dill who also added two hits.

DMA was led by Olivia Farris and Ali Novotny who both had multiple h and won 13-2. Olivia Farris also threw a 2-hitter with 9 K's for DMA.Regan Mandick had both of Red Lions hits.

Mount's Teagan Bradley scattered eight singles while striking out ten Colonials for her fourth win of the season as the Lady Knights defeated the Lady Colonials of William Penn by a 7-5 score. She also contributed 2 hits, as did teamates Kristin Haroldsdottir, and Nicole Tomassi. Aubree Foster, Indira Purnell, Emily Elder and Janyea McDonald-Robinett all had 2 hits for William Penn

Savannah Sheats pitched seven inning,allowing one run on two hits and striking out four. Kayla Sobolak went 3 for 3 with 3 RBI's to pace the Lady Bucs of Caravel Academy to a 6-1 win over the Lady Hawks of St. Georges, Courtney Brobst went 2 for 2 with 2 RBI's and Nikki Marcon went 3 for 4 with a double, homerun and a RBI for Caravel Academy. Rachel Seiverd went 1 for 1 for St. Georges.

As always a tight game between the Lady Highlanders and the Lady Rams, the Lady Rams won 16-11. Kylie Golon pitched a complete game for Dickinson, striking out 7. Grace Darden was 2 for 2 with a double and 2 RBI's, Brooklynn Bates had 3 RBI's, and Allison Hendrickson and Ta'shai Haman scored three times each for the Lady Rams.For McKean, Valerie Clark was 3 for 5 with 4 RS, Ariana Sanchez had 2 RBI's, and Mylinah Hales and Jasmine Page each scored 2 runs each.These two district rivals will square off again in May.

Appoquinimink defeated Archmere 4-3 Tuesday afternoon behind a great pitching performace from Kourtney McNatt. She allowed only 3 hits while striking out 13 to earn the win. Offensivily the Jaguars were lead by Mallory Weir who had 2 hits including a RBI double. Tayler Vitola also contributed with a multi hit game. Weir drove in the go ahead run Andrea Johnson in the 7th with a fielders choice after Johnson hit a one out double. Madi Wallace had two hits including a 2 run double for Archmere.

B. Stevenson lead Polytech with 3 hits. H. DiCarlantonio, E. Horn, and J. Rojas each added hits for the Panthers as they won 6-1. E. Carey and D. Vanbuskirk each had hits for Woodbridge.

Tech downed the Lady Bucs 22-10. Corrine Farris was 3 for 3 and Colleen Cosbey was 2 for 2 for the Lady Ravens. Courtney Kohel was 3 for 3 with 3 RBI for Milford.

J. Moore and S. Tyndall lead the way for the Wildcats with 3 hits and S. Taylor had 2 hits of her own and won over Laurel 7-2. P. Givans and C. Smith collected 2 hits for the Bulldogs. Tracy Pleasanton collects the win in the circle pitching a complete game.

Emma Saxton got the win in her first varsity start for Saint Mark’s, with Emily Cartwright and Mia Mendez both driving in 3 RBI’s to defeat the Lady Bulldogs of Brandywine 14-8. Paige Thomas had 5 runs and went 2 for 2 at the plate. For Brandywine Campbell-Mobley and Miller both went 2 for 3 and 2 runs scored. Gbemudu had 10 strikeouts.
