Each year, the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) generously awards Construction Management Technology students with $500 gifts for their education at Delaware Technical Community College. Award recipients are selected by faculty in the Energy and Engineering department based on criteria such as their commitment to pursuing their education, involvement in activities within the department, willingness to help fellow classmates, and grade point average.

This fall, the CFMA award was presented to Motie Ojukutu, who expects to complete his Construction Management Technology degree in 2022. Ojukutu has already secured full-time employment in the field as an estimator with Eagle Group.

The Construction Management Technology program prepares students for careers in the office of a construction company. The combination of architecture, civil engineering and construction courses provides students with a solid foundation necessary to succeed in construction and its related industries. “The students are always very grateful for this award, and it is a great motivator to complete their degree programs,” said Dr. Heidi Gurdo, department chair at the Stanton campus.
